A donut is a favorite treat,
If served with coffee, when you eat.
It's generally eaten in the morning,
Especially when your stomachs growling.
There's chocolate, frosted, powdered and glazed.
Cinnamon, coconut, plain and raised.
Custard, jelly, and maple frosted.
Sugared, twists, and vanilla frosted.
It fills a need for those in a hurry,
When your mind and eyes are blurry.
For those who fight the hunger pains,
Just eat a donut, satisfaction reigns
